This Week In the Ann Arbor Public Schools
March 15, 2010
This Week’s Good News!
- Forbes Magazine named Ann Arbor as #1 in its list of the Top 10 College Towns. Their description of our town?
“The town of 114,000 has it all: a top-notch public school system, a low crime rate and very affordable housing (the median price for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom, 2,200-square-foot is $148,000). Museums and good restaurants abound. And even though its high-profile football and basketball teams have struggled as of late, the school's other teams - like golf, rowing and softball - have excelled, so much so that Michigan finished fifth overall in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup last year, a ranking by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics of schools based on their performance in every sport.”

Ideas being developed include native plant gardens, rainwater collection systems, and storm-water management features. After finalizing the designs, the Ecology Club will begin to implement and construct these projects starting in the fall of 2010, supported by fundraising and additional volunteer support.
