Student Life
Each student at Community is a member of the Forum, a small group
of students led by a certified teacher, called a Forum Leader. Forum
Leaders assess each student's progress and ensure the development of
basic skills, implement cultural, volunteer and social activities,
and provide a home base for students.
CHS offers non-traditional opportunities for student
participation. Students and staff participate together in school
governance through Town Meetings, staff hiring committees and the
School Improvement Team.
Student organizations include the National Honor Society, the
Black and Gay student unions, Student Educating Each Other About
Discrimination (SEED), Amnesty International, Key Club and the
Student Union.
